feeling of simple L.O.V.E~

Family BG:

Parents both not working, mum became "mentally depressed" 2mths just after given birth to son. She also need to go hospital for her follow-ups and req injection like every 30-60days? On the other hand, dad become "semi-retired" wif constant battle of chronic disease like diabetic which req injection, coronary heart disease which causes blockage of the arteries.. Difficulty to find stable jobs due to his acute illness, making ends meet by working as odd-job worker. However, he got assistance from some organisation which helps pays off his monthly electrical bills and gave out cash abt 350.

Also he used to work as unlicensed fruit seller, got caught by authorities due to unable to pay fines (amts to abt 120k!!) and got jailed twice (once for 90 days n another time for abt 120 days..) While he was in jail, due to his wife's unstable mental condition, her sister came over and help out with daily chores. Whenever his wife did visit him in jail-she would often cried w/o fail during each visitation.

Due to such poor family support, their only 11 y.o son had no frens/mentor in school to talk to in regards to his family BG. Thus his character becoming abit of shy/introverted when he 1st stepped the hse after sch wif full of strangers in it.. 1 "saddening" Q raised by Quan YiFeng during the program: How did the young boy felt whenever his dad often told him to scatter his ashes into the sea once he passes away? The boy replied: He felt very scared/lost w/o his dad and does not wish for it to happen.. Shortly after, tears streamed down his cheeks.

Condition of the hse:

Full of bed-bugs, BIG-fat Fleas, Mattress/walls stained with blood inside their bedroom.. Kitchen-no stove/kitchen sink in place.. Full of "family of cockroaches" hidden under stacks of plates, utensils placed in baskets on the floors. Many cute "hello-kitty" stickers inside toilet's wall and kitchen's tiles could be seen too. Upon 1st look seen by both hosts, they thought that there was another "daughter" ard the hse-it turned out to be his WIFE favs.P Which the husband in turned said his wife becoming his daughter as the age gets older.. Dirty toilet bowl, un scrubbed walls/tiles inside the cubicle. Lastly, a super-tattered and torn out sofa at the living room area.

Major Transformation to the hse/family:

1st of all, most impt they need to spray strong chemical spray to get rid of those pests residents in the bedroom and kitchen. Next, volunteers came and shifted all existing furniture outside the flat. Thrown all un-used or too old items out the areas. They were sponsored 1 brand new set of sofa, mattress, a kitchen stove/sink and also a kitchen cabinet. Laminated flooring replaced the current pest-infected tiles at their bedroom area.

Upon seeing these major changes, both the son/wife were very happy. However, as the husband were too happy while trying to fight tears in his eyes. He commented that, for all his life he had been living shabbily. Neva did he dreamt that he could own such a "NEW" home. As for his wife, she was too excited for the new kitchen sink that she didn't slp a wink since the nite b4?? (for all of u out there, which "major" event in yr life would makes u slpless...)Also, a very heart-warming sentence which often came out of the wife's mouth: "I can't survive w/o my Lao-Gong beside me.." Upon hearing this, the husband gave a light peck on the wife's cheeks at the very end of the program.

Also, as for the boy "surprise gift" from the show:he gotten his very owned-football and a Bday cake to celebrate his Bday which falls on the next day of the show. Guess wat's his simple Bday wish? He jus wished for now that his dad could recover faster and becomes healthy day-by day.. He now could go to the student care centre everyday after sch to do his schwork and gets counselling support from the centre itself. In additional, he gotten a new pair of spects from his nearby optical shop. (He could visit the shop every year for free eye check-ups too..)

P.S: Rem to catch each diff heart-warming episode shown by Chn 8, on every Mon at 8pm slot starting from 14-Dec-2009

Personal opinion of 1st Episode of Life Transformers 2 at Chn 8:

A new bed frame/mattress, sofa, kitchen sink and even "simple inexpensive GIFT" aka a football is enuff to make a family full of joy, gratefulness and MOST IMPT feeling of simple L.O.V.E~ Watched Life Transformers2 made me moved to tears several times

As in relation to current issue: young couple's view of marriage; which leads to divorce rates on the rise recently. Perhaps, this local drama series would touch some of their hearts and have another diff mind-set/perception towards taking marriage lightly??

Well at least for me, it DID send me a message..

P.S: For now, i jus need to pray that tml's dad surgery, will be a success. No complication from the op and no neg findings from the tissue histology report..

Wrong decision lead to regretful outcome.

Venue:neighbourhood "newly opened coffeshop".. After work-super tired/mentally drained out.

At 1st wanted go nearby my hse's prata shop, but fren not free to acc me for late dinner.

Stall holder errant attitude towards handling of food. (yong tau Foo)

1. neva used pair of palstic gloves/tongs to replenish food (using his pair of "bare" hands"..) eeeks..

2. I picked 7 items, but end up i dun wan tomato last min. Uncle told me to put back using my "bare hands" even tot i wanted take the stack of empty soup bowls in front of him. He was unwilling and said in an reluctact tone-" Put back yrself lar.." (speechless*)

3. most "applaued/shocking fact": he neva take out his gloved hand, using the same hand he took my money and gave me back the change.. **Goodness.. Then he carried on serving next customer behind me ^0^

**P.S quite famous chain of coffeeshop ard SG lei. even if next time i were 2 die of hunger, i would rather go hm munch some bread/cook instand noodles.

Most of food stall owners/table cleaners are quite elderly, but no excuse shld be give for such behavious. Maybe newly opened, last then 6mths or so-thus no "licensed" alphabetical issued by local food authories. Or reason could be near neighbourhood area?? But i noticed-the coffeeshop could still draw some crowds even ard 9plus evening time.

Luckily for me, mine stomach gastric quite good-if not i sure kena food posioning de.. Dun wan next "rojak" incident to happen once again..

So my fellow frens/readers any personal opinion on this incident??

Taiwanese actor Takeshi Kaneshiro was recently sighted at the Los Angeles airport, and this sparked off speculations of the actor's plans to make a breakthrough in the Hollywood market. Thomas Ong was forced to marry a Turkish woman while filming Diminishing Horizons

As a newbie travel host, local artiste, Thomas Ong had much to learn from the filming of his upcoming travel programme, Diminishing Horizons. Apart from making long treks to faraway places, the host even committed a few errors due to the differences in cultures.

The camera crew's first encounter was when they visited the Beehive houses in Harran, Turkey. After the actor drank a cup of water delivered by a 17-year-old Turkish beauty, he unwittingly sealed a marriage agreement with the lady. If Thomas were to back out of the marriage agreement, he had to pay her a token of 50 camels as alimony.

"He [The girl's father] said that I had to exchange my freedom for 50 camels. That was considered as the alimony and divorce fees." The 17-year-old's father eventually decided to let Thomas off the hook after he understood that the actor was filming a programme.

Apart from his brief encounter with his "prospective" bride, the filming crew bumped into a motorcycle driven by a father with two children sitting on it in Mali, West Africa. They did not wear any safety helmets and were sent to the hospital to treatment for their injuries.

The entourage's tour guide informed them that the Western African government originally made it compulsory for all motorists to wear helmets. Oiishi jap food at riverside hotel.. Our 6yrs anni 13th-Oct-09<3

2days ago was our 6 years anniversary. Time really flies past lor-still rem on this day 6yrs ago. Supposedly to meet him after chatting online for like 6-8mths in the "then IRC".. I was out with my frens at town area, happily chatting away. Forgotten all abt the meet-up, till to my horror i saw a few missed call n sms from him. He waited like 4hurs plus, hanging ard or rather "combing thru" the whole Toa Payoh area.

So i leave as it was quite late ard 10plus to HDB hub. I was looking ard then i saw a guy which looks like him wearing a black top, so i called to see if it was him anot.. Then he picked up, as it was late alrdy no more rest/food. We ate the cold sandwich which was bought frm the near-by 7-11 with a slurpee. As it was getting late, he passed my the vcd InitalD disc whichi i wanted to borrow then he send me back in cab.. He then send me a text, asking me wats my 1st impression of him-does he stand any chance?? I didn't noe how to reply him, so we continued our online/phone chat. Our v 1st date was at PS and the venue we started holding hands-make a wild guess ppl~ *drum-roll* it was @traffic junction at geylang.. (dun get the wrong idea hor!) Geylang beer hor-fun was our 1st un-romantic dinner. LOLs.

Enuff of remeisence of the sweet/bitter memories.So we decided to head back 2nd time to this jap rest at Riverside hotel as our 1st visit was a satisfying meal.. This timne we called to make reservation. We reached ard 6plus. Its was a all-u-can-eat buffet cost abt 35+ per adult, exl soft drinks. So we had 2 servings of FRESH sashimi, the tempura ebi prawns, fried veg tempura, soft shell crab hand roll, grilled shisaimo, grilled chic wings, the super silky chaiwaimushi.. Look out for more pics k, its inside my phone.

For my gift i got a pair of Cute MashiMaro wedding couple. He bought it while waiting for me at CentralMall.. Hehe, i could use them for my bridal car deco n reception table liao~ As for my wedding prep, still awaiting for email from a club.. Keeping u all in suspense 1st~

a feeling of being "LOST~"..

Damn a feeling of being "LOST~".. As in i lost my bloody phone while meeting my Dar for B/F during my post night duty on tues am.. (6-oct-09) i only realised it when i gotten home, after checking my bank acc online. As i need to contact my ins agent, Re:my investment/saving plans..

Just then, while searching for my usual place-inside my bag. It dwell ed upon me then it's not there~ I searched the whole hse, even went to the extent of opening the fridge.. Cos i tot out of my "blur-ness", i placed it inside(which happened to 1 of my ex-colleague b4!!) Even my dar also helped me combed the whole area, but to no avail. So i immediately called the op to suspend my line 1st, while i gg to get my replacement card in the evening. Luckily dar got spare "SAMSUNG" touch screen phone lo-if not i need spend $ again.. If i "can predict"my phone would b lost. I would have bought the iphone from the Singtel IT fair~ Duno if i shld cancel my line since my contract ending in abt 5mths from now~

Wat a day, so suey lor.. Worst duno how/where did i mis-placed. Got 2 possible location either on the bus/bedok food market >< Worst of all-all my 100 over contacts cum pics all GONE.. I had posted in my FB to send me their name when text-ing sms to me~ Cant even find my old sim card now *_*

PS:Now hoping my dream phone LG900 Cystal price would gone down in few mths time when my contract's abt to end.. <3

Buying a new laptop at the upcoming Comex fair? Here are some personal tips.
The annual Comex fair is coming again this weekend at Suntec City. As usual, expect bargains galore on computers and electronics items. One product that's always popular with customers is the laptop. With these portable machines as powerful as their desktop counterparts, it's no wonder that people prefer buying them.

Here then are some of my personal tips for choosing an almost perfect laptop:

Backlit keyboard
I cannot stress this enough. It doesn't matter if you have 20/20 eyesight and can see in the dark as if it were daylight. A backlit keyboard ensures that you will always be able to see what keys you are pressing. Even if you're in a brightly lit room, if you happen to have the bad luck of sitting with your back to the light, thus casting your shadow over the keyboard, then you will thank your lucky stars that you have a backlit keyboard.

Don't scrimp on this feature. Your eyesight is extremely important.

More than enough USB ports
How many devices do you connect to your computer? There's a mouse and a printer. You might also have a digital camera and music player. You almost definitely have a handphone, which you may also use as an Internet connection device. If you signed up for wireless broadband, then you have a dongle for that service. Then there are the few thumbdrives. Maybe you also have a portable fan, just in case you're stuck outdoors while computing.

That's eight devices that connect to your computer, meaning 8 possible USB connections. Chances are, you won't connect all eight at the same time. But the mouse is almost always connected, so that's one USB port gone. You're unlikely to want to repeatedly plug-and-unplug certain devices, like a digital camera that's transferring photos midway. So that's about two more USB ports gone.

My advice is: count the number of devices you connect to your computer every day, then add 2 more USB ports. If you can't find a laptop that has that number of built-in USB ports, you may have to think about spending a bit more for a USB hub.

Non-widescreen display
A lot of laptop manufacturers are promoting widescreen laptops. They say it's great for watching movies, because you maintan the film's perspective without the ugly bars. To that, I say: "Seriously?" Firstly, you're not going to use your laptop to watch movies all the time, unless your a store assistant on a slow business day. Secondly, when you're focused on the movie, you're less likely to notice the black bars.

Therefore, I personally wouldn't bother with this sales gimmick. A regular 4:3 screen is as good as a widescreen for day-to-day use.

Weight
Even if your laptop is anchored to your desk 24/7, you will appreciate a light computer when you need to make that once-in-a-blue-moon move. I'm sure bodybuilders appreciate a lighter load. It just makes sense to reduce your effort in carrying a laptop, so why pay for a bulky one?

Your turn
So those are my recommendations when laptop buying. Sure, there's the usual stuff like hard disk size and wireless connections and all that. But when you think about how you're going to use your laptop, you want to make sure that you're focused on the right features, and not the flashy stuff.

TYPES OF ECLIPSE

1. Partial --> A partial eclipse happens when the Moon passes in front of the Sun, but does not cover it completely.
2. Total --> A total eclipse occurs when the Moon covers the Sun completely. Only a small region of the Earth will see a total eclipse, but observers in the nearby regions see a partial eclipse.
3. Annular --> If the Moon is further away from the Earth than normal, then it will not appear large enough in the sky to cover the Sun. The Sun appears as a ring with a dark centre.

Tiring but fun Pre-wedding phoot shoot day~ (6-6-09)

Went for pre-fitting few days ago prior my PS day. Abit of alteration need to be made-abit tight at certain areas.. But i haven gain weight hor, it always remains. Anyway for the past week been busy with my stuff in prep for the yesterday PS.

Firstly, went to touch up my hair colour cos colour faded. Went to highlight to abit orange-more to red colour with dark base colour. Next went for facial to thoroughly cleanse my face so the makeup can stay longer. Followed by lastly doing my pedi-manicure 1 day prior to PS day.

Been feeling tired throughout the week, hence i took half day on fri to rest. Dar need to buy some long-sleeved shirts and his shoes. After trying a few, he bought 3 long sleeved & 1 short sleeved grey shirt & 1 belt. Both of us felt funny esp for him, as he seldom wore so formal b4 except during his frens' wedding. We then headed to kovan to get my nails done, while he go find his shoe. B4 we left, we arranged to meet at Mac for bf at 8am. Also reminded him to bring our wedding rings. Went to sleep early the night b4 ard 11plus as need to reach BS by 9am for make-up session..

I reached mac earlier & ordered my BigMac meal. Called Dar-he just woke up, so i went ahead to eat. Soon we went inside, ready for my transformation~ Simply luff my fake curly eye-lashes which indeed makes both my eyes appear bigger. Decided to try on curly hair for 1st time, quite different look.. Next, would be Dar's turn to apply some light make-up. Hehee.. After trying a few traditional costumes, decided on the jap one. Declined to wear the RED "kau". *tsk..

After abt 1 n half hour or so, it's time for "De photo taking".. I wore my maroon EG 1st, while my Dar wore his white shirt with jacket. While we were upstairs wif the PG, background got soft music being played. At 1st, i was abit tensed up which makes my smile fake.. Its was during my last WG shoot, then i got better after some "enlightenment" by the PG. Next we had lunch ard 2plus. As Dar's fren wanted to come along for our outdoor tog with his gf.. Told him that once we reached changi, will call him again. We went outdoor ard 4plus, headed for punggol field 1st. Sprayed insect repellant b4 going out to the field. As weather was hot, we didn't venture to the lallang..

Our final destination was at Changi Broadway for the "kelong" & beach feel. Dar's fren arrived not long after equiped with his gf's pro skills~ As the weather's very hot, we took shade in btw shoots under the shade. Poor Dar was perspiring under the scorching sun.. So we took break while waiting for the sunset moment! While we were there, saw a few couple taking their photos there too. As the time was precious, we faster finished off the shots quickly with Dar having to carry me/piggy-back me with slowly running on the sands.. Lols with courtesy of the PG's instructions lor. Overall, i had fun & enjoyed my outdoor more 2 indoor.. Stayed tuned for sneak previews of the outdoor pics k @.@ (signing off for now..) Now need to wait for 2wks to photos selection, *praying all wil turned out well~

Went to Sasa near my workplace. As 1st only intend buying loose powder, but e brand i wanted dun haf.. So happened 2 chance upon tis cute lookin, tiny size wif cheap pricin too.
